This is a well-known brand, and they make these powerful machines that come in small and compact packages. You can store this unit with ease, and it comes with great headlights that allow you to work day or night, removing snow. What do we love it for?

  • We liked that this machine could be used by anyone and that the cold-weather build made this unit durable and hardy under any conditions. You will get great auger ground clearance for tough terrain, and the EZ-steer design makes using this in round or oddly-shaped areas a snap. What were we disappointed with?

  • Parts can be a little tough to source for this machine, and some people do have issues with repairs down the road. This is a sturdy unit that should not fail you, but if you do need parts, you might need to work with the company to find them. Best for Ice

PowerSmart PSSAM24

Features
  • Engine: 212cc PowerSmart
  • Clearing width: 24 inches
  • Weight: 143 lbs.
  • Dimensions: 32.3 x 24.8 x 22 inches

What stands out?

  • We liked the variable speeds and the easy-to-use starter. The clearing depth is perfect, and you can actually set this machine to work on various surfaces like gravel and concrete, and asphalt. Having a push-button start makes this a really nice unit if you are sick of having to pull start your snow blower. If you have variable surfaces in your driveway area, this is probably the perfect machine for your needs. You will be able to set the machine to handle all kinds of surfaces and terrains with ease.

What cons did we manage to find?

  • Reverse gears can be a little sticky on this unit, and there have been some users who have said that it's hard to turn if you are a bit smaller than average. This is a large unit with some power behind it, so it might be better used by taller and stronger people. This does not mean that the machine is too difficult to deal with for smaller users, but there are some people who will find that the steering is just a little tough for their needs.

I have some back problems that developed recently, but I still have to use a snowblower from time to time. Can somebody recommend a thrower that would be easy to maneuver?

    • First Mate211 Jun 23, 2021

I think the Husqvarna commercial snow blowers above would be just right for you. The power steering feature makes it easy to maneuver.

Is it worth it to get a commercial snow blower for residential use?

  3. Khalil Mccarthy Jul 26, 2021

I was looking for a snow thrower that runs off of a battery. I found two: PowerSmart and the Ego. This product did not disappoint me and is built well for an electric snow thrower. I had some snow from a few weeks ago, it was heavier and had ice on top from melting and freezing. The machine chewed it up without any trouble. I am very satisfied with this purchase and recommend this product to anyone who needs one like it. I only suggest you read the instructions beforehand. I thought it was faulty at first but there is a safety feature that will not allow the thrower to start up as it should unless you follow the steps in the manual. It will drive but without an auger, it won’t work. The button for turning on and off the auger is labeled clearly in the manual or on the unit, but I didn’t know that at first because it isn’t labeled clearly enough in either place. Other than that, this item works great and is still worth buying even with that issue because I was impatient about reading instructions

    • Cole Hickman Aug 5, 2021

This thing about the auger is a common complaint. They even explain it in their product description, right the top of it, lol. So make sure you hold that on/off button, pull the trigger, and only then release tha button.

      • AzkabanWinnie Aug 18, 2021

This was a puzzle for me as well at first. I should start reading the manuals first>D

  4. Katelyn Huffman Sep 24, 2021

Does anyone has something to say about the premium Husqvarna ST427T here? So few reviews online, I’m struggling.

    • Shiloh Alvarado Oct 5, 2021

It is expensive, but it’s worth it if you live in snowy climate. The tires have great traction and they can even push the snow over my wall. I would recommend this to anyone who gets lots of snow.

    • Rumplestiltskin Oct 27, 2021

This snow blower is easy for anyone to use. The electric start is very helpful, and the snow blower moves a lot of snow. I would make one change to the forward hydrostatic drive, so that it can go faster when there’s not as much snow on the ground. Still, this has been great for my back because it’s easier to push.
