Make Raking Up Leaves Easy with the Right Rake

Share |

When fall comes, the leaves start dropping and clean-up of your yard can become a huge task.  While raking up leaves is fun for children, it can be back breaking for adults.  Having the right tools is critical for easier clean-up, which means less time spent raking and a healthier back.

During the fall, it is common for it to rain making the leaves wet and sticky and hard to rake up with the typical garden rake.  For wet leaves, use a rake like the G-Series Ground Hog Circular Garden Rake.  This rake is made for easily gathering up wet leaves and even works well to pick up debris in tight spaces.  The head of the rake is powder coated to help prevent rust and the long, comfortable handle is easy on your back and hands.

Dry leaves tend to be much easier to gather, but can create a large mound quickly. For dry leaf raking, use a rake such as the Collector Series Leaf Rake 72 inch handle.  The head of this rake is slightly curved to easily corral big piles of leaves.  The long handle gives you a long reach that is easier on your back and the even tines make grabbing leaves quicker and easier.

Fall leaves not only land on the ground, but can also land on hard to clean places such as your flower beds and shrubs.  If you tend to have leaves that get stuck in your shrubs or plantings, use a smaller rake like the Greensweeper C-grip Shrub Rake to keep your greenery looking neat and tidy.  This rake has a cushioned handle and easily grabs small leaves.

Having the right rake for the job can make your life much easier and helps  prevent your back from having aches and pains.  To help minimize your workload, use the appropriate leaf rake on a regular basis.  Clean-up in the fall reduces your yard work in the spring.  For a variety of high quality garden tools that make yard clean-up easier, check out Backyard Style.
