Getting Rid of Weeds in Your Lawn

Share |

Lawn weeds can detract from the beauty and feel of your lawn and removing these troublesome plants can be a difficult, but with the right tools you can prevent the weeds from taking over your lawn. When taking on this task, it is important to evaluate your lawn first before starting treatment. Weed prevention is best for keeping your lawn healthy; however, if you already have spotted weeds on your lawn, there is still hope.

A simple way of removing weeds is to pull out the weeds by hand or with a weeder. This is effective if your lawn has a few weeds and you are able to pull out the entire root system. A great weeder to use on your lawn is the NRG Professional Weeder because it has a long handle that makes it easier on your back. It removes weeds easily from your lawn and makes the job more convenient and quicker. Use this weeder on a variety of weeds regularly to help reduce the amount of weeds on your lawn and prevent the weeds from spreading.

If your lawn has too many weeds to pull, you may need to use a chemical weed killer. Choose a weed killer that will not harm your lawn and safe for use with people and pets. An effective spot weed killer for lawns is the Weed Beater Lawn Spot Weed Killer by Bonide. Just spray this weed killer on a broadleaf weed and the killer starts working immediately to kill the weed. It works great on a large variety of broadleaf weeds.
By pulling weeds out and treating spots with a chemical weed killer, you will help keep your lawn free of weeds and in good shape for your family to enjoy.
